Music writer KIM FIELD, author of "The Blues Dream of Billy Boy Arnold," wrote in the liner notes: Weinstein and Monk have the blues in common. Weinstein is not only a master of the art of playing jazz on the chromatic harmonica, but seven years living in Chicago exposed him to the funky and soulful blues harp style created on the city's South Side. Dave Waldman, an outstanding Chicago-based harmonica player, was huge influence on Weinstein and ignited a deep appreciation for the playing of Little Walter Jacobs. "I really like blues harp," notes Weinstein. "A lot of the guys who play jazz chromatic don't seem to be that into it."
